Special Interests in Spinal Pathologies
Safir Spinal Travel Fellowship, USA, 1994. Mr. A. Gardner FRCS, Spinal Orthopaedic Surgeon and former President of the European Spine Society (2nd left), dr. A. Hadjipavlou MD, Professor Spinal Orthopaedics (2nd right), and dr. med. Guy Declerck MD, Spinal Orthopaedic Surgeon (far right).
In addition of reviewing 23,539 consecutive human vertebral spines - related to the degeneration of the lumbar intervertebral disc, spinal osteoporosis, spinal stenosis, spinal metastases, and the whiplash ‘enigma’ in the Department of Neuropathology at the University of Perth - the impact of the Australian Medical ‘Giants’, professor B.A. Kakulas (neuropathology and neuromuscular pathology), professor J.R. Taylor (spinal anatomy and human biology), and Sir George Bedbrook (spinal orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation) on Guy’s life was phenomenal.
The accumulated ‘Perth’-experience remained for always the basis for dr. Guy’s thorough and profound scientific and surgical spinal background as well as for his essential Academic English to assist, guide, initiate, and monitor research and development (R&D) of innovative surgical and non-surgical spinal items. In the meantime dr. Guy trained hundreds of spinal surgeons in these innovative techniques.
With his obstinate tenacity, perseverance and being quinilingual, dr. Guy realized all of his personal spinal surgical goals by ‘withstanding conditional advices’ (Cicero) and ‘disregarding what others were and are still thinking of him’ (Seneca).
Based on his toplevel ‘Perth’-experience (Index International Human Development Report 2011/Stat Plant World Map), dr. Guy is now offering his intellectual talents to those who are universally aiming at increasing men’s basic health and well-being by conservative means and based on scrupulous analysis of the medical literature.
His actual and most important monitoring function of in vitro and in vivo research relates to furthering human applications of the already internationally and medically applied whole body vibration (WBV) items with mechanically induced sinusoidal vibrations for benign but painful spinal, vascular, and lymphatic related complaints. Based on such initial investigations, the andullation technology for the Andumed and Andubed, has been FDA approved (VM9100RM, 21 CFR 890.5880).
Dr. Guy’s ultimate professional objective is the publication of his researched scientific spinal data on the degenerating lumbar intervertebral disc, spinal musculature in the chronic low back pain patient, spinal metastatic disease, and the whiplash enigma collected in the Department of Neuropathology, University of Perth, Australia. With the assistance of Alonso Ríos Vanegas, a well-known sculptor and pintor from Medellín, Colombia, difficult-to-understand medical data on the aforementioned topics will be illustrated in a most understandable way.
